My Week As A Jeweller #6

Hi everyone, how was your week? This week Summer finally arrived in Birmingham, as always it was short lived but my goodness what a difference it made...

There has been more snow on the ground than sun in the sky for Bruce's short life so far but this week he fell in love with the sun, refusing to come in from the garden, following the sun patches around and generally worshipping it whole heartedly, almost as much as his little red ball!!

Utterly jealous Not at all jealous of course, but I didn't want to miss the sun, so I took any chance to get outside and soak up some much needed vitamin D. I set up a little photo shoot outside to photograph some new products and ideas (more of those in the weeks to come).

SO what do you think of when the sun starts to shine, Christmas Decorations obviously :-O

Yes that's right I have been getting Christmas Decoration orders through, don't get me wrong I LOVE an organised customer, but having to stop inside to work on them when it's a scorcha of a day makes your brain ache a little... I do love them though...

A commission for a super dapper Groom came through middle of the week, a pair of Tuxedo Studs and a matching pair of cufflinks were needed for a wedding in America...

I have sold quite a few of these over the years but always to America, I don't think they are as popular in the UK, which is a shame because they look great on a crisp white Tux shirt, and the matching cufflinks are a must!

I did a bit more sewing! I take after my Mum in that I can't just sit still and not be doing something, I need an activity even when watch TV otherwise in Mikes words "I'm annoying". I am not the best at sewing mainly because I do it my way rather than the right way, so its always a bit slap-dash but I do love it...

Fathers day cufflinks have been the trend again this week but there are also some lovely orders coming through from some VERY proud parents. These are a gift for a son who has just Graduated form University, such a wonderful keepsake and strong message to give someone at the start of a new chapter of their lives...

AND THEN IT WAS THE MAIN EVENT...MY BIRTHDAY!!

Me and Mike share a birthday (I am 11 hours older), I had to wrap his gifts in Christmas paper because we had nothing else and I am rubbish, but it's ok, because he wrapped mine in the same paper, we are the perfect match ;-)

And look at the AMAZING gift he got me...

Next week we spend a couple of days in Cornwall with this beauty! I am beyond excited and after a couple of really busy weeks I think I deserve it too. Bruce is coming along on his first ever holiday and we are counting down the days, making lists of what we need to take. So far Bruce only has 'little red ball' on his list.

Have a lovely week
