My Week As A Jeweller #5

It’s photo blog time (YAY) but I didn’t take many photos last week (BOO) so it’s pretty short, but I have one photo that I think will explain why I didn’t take many photos…

Even Bruce wasn’t a fan of fishing his ball out of all the puddles, and even more so of the drying off after his walks…

As you can see it wasn’t really the weather for going out and enjoying the world and taking inspiration from what you see. But as I said last week Fathers Day madness is in full swing, so it was probably a good thing in the end, I could get my head down and concentrate on those important orders…

My bestest friend from primary school now works on Britains Got Talent and she very kindly got us some tickets to go and watch one of the live shows! It was very surreal sitting in the studio, and much smaller than it looks on the telly (the studio, not just Ant and Dec). It was very exciting to see how it all works and see all the acts families and friends so proud and passionate about the performances. Plus waving at Simon and David and convincing yourself they were definitely waving at you personally not all the other people waving sat next to you :-)

I had a lovely card from a customer thanking me for a pair of cufflinks I made for her to give to her son for his wedding. I have lots of lovely feedback from customers but never a handwritten card before so it really made me feel good about what I do, thank you Denise…

I also did a lot of re-stocking popular items in my shop, each time I do a batch I think this will last me ages and yet before I know it I am remaking them again, so I must be doing something right…

Late one evening over the weekend we decided to remove the old carpet from our lounge, it was full of stains and we were fed up of looking at it, so up it went! Definitely one of those jobs that seems like it should be really easy and then turn out to take hours!!

But after a little experimental DIY we had it all sorted…

And it has been the kick start we needed to finally sort out the lounge and look at buying a sofa to replace the 30/40 year old hand me down from Mikes Granddad that we have been using. And it just so happened to be the sofa shops opening weekend so we browsed with a bucks fizz and a live Jazz band… well it would be rude not too...

The sun is out this week and it is set to last so hopefully much better photos next week, enjoy the sun everyone!
