They say a bad worker blames their tools, but I have to say, after years using a 'make-do' bench to make my jewellery on, I feel like the queen of the jewellery world with this extremely grand new workbench! My Dad, along with an expert welder, Ken, and a little help from Me and Mike, has made me this workbench, and I just wanted to share it with you, finished and in the workshop. We spent many a freezing Sunday making the workbench together and I couldn't be happier with it! My Dad is the kind of Dad that always has the perfect piece of wood, the perfect tool, and the perfect way to get around a problem, and everything is always made with perfect precision. I like to think this is where I get my creative side from, but perhaps with a little bit of my Mums lovable, scatty-10-things-on-the-go-at-once behaviour thrown in for good measure! So, without further ado, here is the finished bench with pride of place in my workshop….
And here it is after my creative side came out for a day... not so tidy anymore.
THANKS DAD FOR MAKING ME A BRILLIANT BENCH!
His parting words after he set it all up for me were...'You best not decide you don't want to be a jeweller when you grow up now!'
I think I can keep that promise x
